Job Description

  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G plc's operational risk.
  • Collaborate closely with divisional managers, legal advisors and counterparties to execute all legal contracts 
  • Drafting, vetting and finalising all contracts 
  • Negotiate contractual terms based on defined risk framework and organisational guidelines with counterparties on legal terms and conditions 
  • Manage all litigations and actively participate in any investigations for  Global Services and its stakeholders, and escalate any issues and concerns proactively to Global Services senior management and Group legal function
  • Establish strong processes and controls and act as  Global Services contact with Group legal teams to ensure compliance with global policies and procedures 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local management and also across other BU’s, as well as external professional contacts
  • Qualified lawyer with minimum 15 years of professional experience within the legal department in banking & financial services firms; experience in a global capability center (GCC) will be an advantage

  • Qualified lawyer with minimum 13  years of professional experience within the legal department in banking & financial services firms; experience in a global capability center (GCC) will be an advantage Experience of working closely with senior stakeholders (Directors and MDs) globally
  • Strong understanding of Indian and international legal and regulatory environments
  • Experienced in executing and negotiating large, complex internal and external contracts 
  • Ability to successfully navigate a complex organisation as well as build strong relationships and work collaboratively with teams across the business
  • Ability to operate remotely, in a diverse and multi-cultural environment. Excellent interpersonal skills - including liaison across the Global organisation with key personnel, influencing others to deliver to deadlines, and guiding them on specific requirements
  • Excellent report writing, written and oral communication skills (Face to face and via the telephone or videoconference) and delivery of presentations to senior persons within the business
     

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

    Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience partnering with senior global stakeholders, including Directors and MDs.
  • Strong legal and regulatory expertise with complex contract negotiation experience.
  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills
     
  • Experience:

    Qualified lawyer with minimum 13 years of professional experience within the legal department in banking & financial services firms; experience in a global capability center (GCC) will be an advantage 

    Educational Qualification:

  • CS
  • Bachelors in Law
  • Masters in Law (will be added advantage)
