The Training Manager is responsible for leading training services technically and commercially by managing a team of people directly and indirectly. This position is a member of local unit management team to position and grow training services in line with DNV Business Assurance strategy. This position plays a key role in positioning DNV’s vision “To be a trusted partner in tackling global transformation” in the market and customers through enabling a team of sales and operation functions. This position is expected to translate DNV Business Assurance’s global strategy into actions in India market to help customers in navigating their sustainability journey through the application of internationally recognized standards.

This is a leadership role with several people reporting to this position and be part of management team in DNV Business Assurance India. This position reports to the Area Manager, India and Middle East and will be part of the Business Assurance global Training network in DNV Business Assurance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand DNV Business Assurance strategy for Growth, prepare and implement a strategy for training services in India aligned with global;
  • Seek opportunities to develop new business and share relevant market knowledge with other stakeholders to ensure the opportunities are pursued;
  • Develop and lead strategies to achieve business targets in training service in DNV India, including annual business plans, budgets, and forecasts for training service;
  • Establish strategic partnerships with industry associations, educational institutions, and corporate organizations;
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and customer training needs, including competitive landscape;
  • Lead team to generate leads through networking, referrals, industry events, and digital platforms;
  • Own and continuously develop the India training portfolio; Establish and maintain library of training courses including training catalogues, course materials;
  • Liaising with DNV Global Training Office for new training courses and updates of existing courses;
  • Lead and develop public training course offerings and execution together with Marketing and Communications function; Own Training offering (content, accuracy, etc) at the DNV website and other platforms.
  • Manage execution of all trainings in line with DNV’s value proposition by maintaining competence management of trainers, including identification, qualification of trainers in all fields of training service;
  • Drive capability-building initiatives within the training function;
  • Achieve Training service revenue annual budgets.
  • Participate and contribute at the DNV global training network meetings, initiatives and ensure the sharing and implementation in India;
  • Responsible for managing team performance through coaching, mentoring and competence development of the sales team in India; 
  • Working closely with team members to encourage collaboration internally and with other business area in order to achieve business results, growth and innovation;
  • Take lead in developing new services with a clear project management approach to go to market as fast as possible; 
  • Lead, Coach and support the development and career growth of team members;

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, HR, or technical discipline; relevant L&D certifications are a strong plus. 
  • Minimum 15+ years in the field of management systems, with minimum 5 years experience of techno commercial management of training services in the role of training service governance and business development;
  • Strong understanding of various management systems such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, etc., and audit methodologies
  • Strategic approach towards customers and potential clients by translating knowledge and understanding in offering innovative and value-added solutions;
  • Market intelligence and in-depth understanding of competitive landscape in India;
  • Exposure to digital learning platform management, remote learning, eLearning methodologies; 
  • Experience in partnering with institutions, organizations, associations, platforms and other relevant bodies;
  • Experience in managing and developing key accounts / customers and winning new clients;
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building capability to manage the team locally and remotely;
  • Collaboration skills in working with cross functional teams locally and globally in different functions;
  • Leadership skills such as mentoring, coaching, and developing people;
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret mega and mini trends in market, internal process metrics;
  • Objective decision making using sound and relevant data and benchmarks.
