The Columbia Threadneedle Investments asset management group is the global brand under which legal entities are registered world-wide. The primary purpose of the Financial Reporting role is to manage a team and assist in the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, Regulatory and Statistical Reporting in addition to the preparation of Financial Board Packs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, managing and assisting a team in taking care of the following:
- Preparation of annual statutory Financial Statements for the EMEA and APAC dormant entities.
- Support the UK and European based teams with preparation of annual statutory Financial.
- Statements for the EMEA and APAC entities produced within Onesource, against tight reporting deadlines under IFRS, new UK GAAP (this includes consolidated group accounts, insurance companies, trusts, general partnerships and charitable foundations) and other overseas GAAP for certain locations.
- Casting and note reference checks in addition to updating accounts for comments received as well as production of board packs.
- Rolling forwards and managing the administration for any Word produced accounts, letters of support, mapping files.
- Ownership of the IXBRL reporting produced for the tax team from the Onesource system.
- Work closely with external auditors to assist with specific audit deliverables as and when required.
- Assist with the preparation of Going Concern memos for presentation to auditors and the boards.
- Preparation of certain Regulatory reporting submissions and Statistical reporting submissions (Association of British Insurers, Office of National Statistics etc) for UK entities and certain overseas entities within the EMEA and APAC regions including analytical review on movements.
- Monthly processing assistance preparation and posting of month end related journals as well as uploading TB information received from external providers.
- Collaborate and ensure all treasury postings have been completed accurately.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations to include collaboration with the Balance Sheet team.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial board packs.
- Identification of process enhancements or risk mitigation proposals to discuss with team management prior to managing implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting qualification with 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficient with current desktop tools (specifically with MS Excel and Word reporting capabilities)
- Ability to influence, build, and maintain strong working relationships with business partners
- Reliable and Proactive approach towards business goals
- Ability to be accurate and show good attention to detail
