Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Writer operates as a seasoned professional with deep expertise in technical communication, serving as a critical partner to product and engineering teams. This role applies broad professional knowledge and leadership skills to develop high-impact documentation and product enablement resources, enabling successful customer experiences across global markets.
With advanced technical writing and project management experience, the Senior Technical Writer will proactively identify documentation needs, engage with subject matter experts (SMEs), and create scalable, user-centered content while driving alignment across stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge & Impact
• Apply advanced expertise to document a wide range of product areas, such as User Guides, Administration Guides, Deployment Guides, In-app Guides, FAQs, and Release Notes, ensuring accuracy and relevance for diverse audiences.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on content strategy, contributing to organizational goals by leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of documentation systems and practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product complexities, resolve documentation challenges, and deliver innovative solutions that support customer engagement and satisfaction.
Scope & Complexity
• Lead the development of complex documentation frameworks requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple variables and interdependencies.
• Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing tasks, adapting processes, and addressing unique issues with significant organizational impact.
• Ensure documentation standards align with broader organizational objectives while anticipating future needs and scalability.
Experience & Influence
• Mentor and coach junior technical writers, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional development across the team.
• Build strong networks with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, influencing decision-making to ensure documentation best practices are integrated into the product lifecycle.
• Communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences to advocate for the role of documentation in enhancing user experience.
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- 6+ years of experience authoring technical content in technology-focused environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex documentation projects with multiple deliverables and competing deadlines.
- Strong expertise with documentation tools (e.g., Pendo, Confluence, Jira) and proficiency in advanced content strategies for scalability.
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize technical concepts into clear, actionable materials for a wide range of audiences.
- Experience mentoring team members and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of user experience principles and their application to technical documentation.
