Sr Software Engineer

In this position you will be joining HERE’s traffic business unit. HERE traffic team is responsible for developing first-class traffic related products and real-time services which are part of HERE offered products and services portfolio. You will be part of the energetic and talented traffic teams that work on challenging tasks and build parallel. distributed processing systems in big data world. In addition to the technical challenges in this position, you will have lots of opportunities to expand your career both technically and personally.

Responsibilities:

You will be working on all phases of the software development lifecycle from design, coding, testing, deployment & post-production support. Your responsibilities span the entire software development process to include:

• Develop full stack applications/services/tools to process very large data sets in Java/scala, Spark/Flink/Akka in a cloud computing environment mainly with AWS.
• Participate architecture design and do application development at various levels with best practices.
• Be responsible for technical and in-depth solutions in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• Drive and contribute the high-quality development with availability, scalability, reliability, high performance and cost efficiency.
• Build out systems to monitor deployed workflows and handling failures.
• Identify, investigae, analyze and troubleshoot software defects.
• Engage with internal and external customers for requirements, change requests and incidents to help define clear application-level specifications
• Be part of an agile team, mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, perform design/code reviews, pro-active communication.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of programming experience in Java & AWS.
• Deep understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP design concepts, etc.
• Good understanding on functional programming and modern design patterns
• Having considerable understanding and experience on SOA, MDA, and other forms of enterprise architecture paradigms
• Having working knowledge of Scala, Spark/Flink/Akka, big data processing, batch vs real time
• Experience in Maven/SBT, GIT/GERRIT, Gib Lab, Jenkins, Linux Environment.
• Strong analytical, creative problem-solving and communication skills.
• Full stack architecture design & application development experience
