Lead Software Engineer

The Here Foundation Engineering HD Content Creation team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to ensure Here delivers fresh content for its various products with a constant upgrade to the Technology Stack of the pipelines.

Join our highly motivated Source Ingestion team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to dive deep into our various products and understand the flow of content from source to actual products to customer Use cases. We work with Agile practices and cooperate with numerous different teams inside and outside of the company.

• Be responsible for providing design and development leadership in delivering products.
• Own and drive technical leadership and in-depth solutions in an innovative and fast-paced environment
• Own one or more components of software architecture in the immediate environment
• Develop software that is well-crafted & steadily adds business value, as part of a community of professionals
• Engage with internal and external customers for requirements, change requests, and incidents to help define seamless deliveries.
• Drive initiatives that contribute to the development of software that is efficient, reusable, and reliable (g. agile, coding, verification)
• Be part of an agile team, share knowledge, do code reviews, pro-active communication
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team.

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.
• 7+ years of backend application development experience – Scala
• Experience with working in AWS building production grade application following software development principals
• Working experience in Microservices Architecture.
• Python  or other scripting languages.
• Able to provide technical leadership and domain expertise to help build the competency of other engineers (researching new technologies, tutorials to group, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of programming practices, strive to write great code that is reusable, flexible, and reliable.
• A strong quality mindset is considered a must: unit testing, performance testing, writing testable code
• Eagerness for challenges, the ability to lead and advance teams of developers and work with a variety of technologies and personnel.
• Infrastructure experience: GIT, Gitlab, Spark
• Very good communication skills in English both written and spoken.
