About Backblaze

Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, fueling customer success with cloud storage built purposefully to unlock budgets, unburden administrators, and unleash innovators. Together with our partners, we’re helping customers break free from the restrictive, overpriced legacy solutions that hold them back, and blaze forward with the full power of the open cloud in their hands.

Founded in 2007, we scaled the business with less than $3 million in outside funding until 2021, when we did a traditional IPO on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Today, Backblaze generates over $100m in revenue and is the leading specialized storage cloud - managing over three billion gigabytes of data storage for 500K+ customers in 175+ countries, including businesses, developers, IT professionals, and individuals.
But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Sr. Product Manager!

About the Role:

Backblaze’s B2 Cloud Storage is a disruptive offering in the market, offering AWS S3 compatibility and excellent performance at 80% less. The Sr. Product Manager for B2 will work closely with key stakeholders to understand the evolution of cloud storage and the customer problems in the space and determine the product strategies to address those problems. He or she will work independently to lead the efforts for new features and improvements to execute on those strategies. Understanding customer problems through interviews and market research and translating them into requirements is critical. Partner relationships are important as well and the Sr. Product Manager will play a major role in driving and supporting partner integrations that require product support.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive B2 Cloud Storage partner integration initiatives, enabling technology partners and resellers to seamlessly embed or white-label B2 in their offerings.
  • Collaborate with partners, customers, and internal teams to design scalable, secure, and reliable integrations.
  • Use the B2 Cloud Storage product and partner products hands-on to identify gaps, improve usability, and ensure interoperability.
  • Analyze trends in public cloud, CDN, and edge computing markets to shape the B2 partner and integration strategy.
  • Gather insights from partners and customers to deeply understand pain points and opportunities—translating those into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Define, maintain, and communicate a product strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals, customer needs, and partner success.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales to drive successful product launches and go-to-market activities.
  • Establish and track key product metrics (KPIs), using data to guide iteration and growth decisions.

The Right Fit:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Expertise in cloud computing and storage, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or Ceph
  • Strong grasp of cloud architecture, IAM, APIs, and security and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven success in owning product roadmaps, defining MVPs, and driving the complete product life cycle
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Programming ability in any language is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with AI tools to accelerate product management process
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in agile development environments and tools such as Jira
  • Must be willing to work in EST or PST timezones.
