OVERVIEW

The “Insights and Analytics” organization within General Mills’ Strategy and Growth function is responsible to deliver integrated consumer, customer, category, and business performance insights to power smarter, faster decisions and next-best actions, enabling precision in brand strategies, campaign execution, media and investment optimization across our US businesses and brands. The Insights and Analytics org has integrated teams operating from our Minneapolis and India offices. This is a newly created Prepress planner role within our HQ Marketing Operations org and will be based in our India office.

As the Senior Planner - Prepress, you will be a key part of General Mills’ Graphic Supply Chain organization, helping ensure packaging design work moves smoothly, clearly, and efficiently from development through review and prepress readiness. This role serves as a central point of connection across design agencies, external suppliers, and internal graphic supply chain team members. You will support the coordination of packaging design activities by facilitating communication, improving workflow visibility, identifying when additional discussion or clarification is needed, and helping teams stay aligned on key milestones, handoffs, and next steps. You will play an important role in supporting early review of packaging designs, helping determine when formal design and printability discussions are warranted, and ensuring those conversations are scheduled, documented, and followed through effectively. You will also help maintain workload visibility through tracking, reporting, and forecasting processes that enable better planning across multiple active workstreams. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented operator who is comfortable managing complexity, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and supporting a high volume of packaging design work across multiple stakeholders. Based in the General Mills India Center (GIC), this role will operate as part of General Mills’ global model, with day-to-day work direction and priorities closely connected to U.S.-based functional partners and managers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design Review Coordination: Review packaging designs early in development to identify when additional discussion, clarification, or cross-functional coordination may be needed, and help determine when formal design and printability review conversations should be initiated.
• Meeting Facilitation & Follow-Through: Schedule, facilitate, and document design review and related working sessions, ensuring clear recaps, action items, owners, and next steps are communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
• Agency, Supplier & Internal Partner Connectivity: Serve as a consistent operational connector across design agencies, external suppliers, and internal design partners to ensure alignment, continuity, and timely information flow throughout the packaging design process.
• Workflow Planning & Visibility: Create, maintain, and manage tracking reports and workflow tools that provide visibility to active projects, timelines, milestones, bottlenecks, and upcoming workload demands.
• Timeline & Handoff Management: Coordinate key milestones and handoffs across design and internal teams to support on-time progress and reduce confusion, rework, or missed dependencies.
• Process Support & Organizational Enablement: Act as an internal resource for questions related to packaging design workflows, meeting structure, communication channels, and operating processes; support training, education, and ongoing process clarity led by Graphic Supply Chain Management.
• Reporting & Communication Management: Provide clear summaries and updates from design agency meetings and maintain communication tools, including distribution lists and recurring reporting, to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education – Master’s degree or MBA with specialization in marketing operations, graphic communications, packaging, print production, design operations, project management, or a related field
• 4-6 years of relevant experience supporting packaging design, creative operations, print production, prepress, or related workflow-based environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional work across multiple stakeholders, including agencies, suppliers, and internal partners.
• Working knowledge of packaging design development, print reproduction, and prepress or printability considerations sufficient to identify when additional technical review or discussion is needed.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies at once.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings, capture decisions and action items, and provide clear follow-up to diverse stakeholder groups.
• Demonstrated ability to bring structure, visibility, and follow-through to complex operational workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working in fast-moving environments where priorities and timelines may shift.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting packaging design agencies, external print or production suppliers, and internal design or brand teams.
• Experience facilitating design review, printability review, or other cross-functional packaging discussions.
• Familiarity with workflow tracking, reporting, and forecasting processes that support packaging or creative operations planning.
• Experience serving in a lead coordinator, planner, or project management role within packaging, graphics, prepress, or related operational environments.
• Ability to influence progress and drive alignment without direct authority through strong communication, preparation, and follow-through.
• Experience supporting training, process education, or documentation efforts that improve team clarity and consistency.
• Experience working in a large, matrixed organization with multiple concurrent stakeholders and priorities.
