The Sr Manager Business Development drives growth in South East Asia, managing M&A and commercial joint ventures, emphasizing strategic partnerships in healthcare.
Position Purpose
The Business Development Director is the primary driver for growth within the South East Asia region. This role bridges the gap between local market scouting and regional execution, managing a diverse portfolio of traditional M&A and Commercial Joint Ventures. We are looking for an autonomous, results-oriented leader who can navigate complex partnership models and drive them to successful completion within a strictly compliance-driven framework
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & M&A: Identify and execute growth opportunities through equity transactions and strategic Care Alliances. You will take mature leads from local scouts and drive them through to final close.
- Commercial Joint Ventures: Lead the development of innovative commercial partnerships and subcontracting models. You will negotiate agreements that allow us to embed our specialized care services and technology within established hospital infrastructures.
- Regional Strategic Lead: Drive the expansion strategy for the Philippines and India, while supporting secondary projects across the broader APAC region (Thailand, China, Australia, or Japan) as required.
- End-to-End Deal Management: Lead projects from preliminary financial analysis through to the final regional approval process. This includes preparing all strategic documentation and overseeing deployment plans.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Develop tailored, value-based propositions for hospital partners and stakeholders to consolidate our market position and ensure long-term business sustainability.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor regional market dynamics and healthcare shifts to ensure the APAC strategy remains competitive and agile.
Required Qualifications & Professional Experience
- Academic Excellence: A university degree in Business Management, Economics, or Law is required. An MBA is a significant advantage.
- Regional Market Expertise: Mandatory experience managing business development or M&A projects within the Philippines and India.
- Industry Leadership: 10+ years of experience in high-level Project Management or Business Development.
- Direct experience in Care Delivery (hospitals, clinics, or dialysis) is required. (General Pharma experience without a care delivery background is not suitable).
- Specialized Knowledge: A background in subcontracting models or complex commercial partnerships is a distinct advantage.
- Financial Acumen: Proficient in financial modeling, P&L analysis, and the evaluation of operational unit economics.
Personal Competencies & Requirements
- Linguistic Proficiency: Fluent English is essential.
- Strategic Execution: A self-motivated, assertive leader ready to take full accountability for the deal lifecycle.
- Operational Agility: An executive who is comfortable moving between high-level strategy and the operational details required to launch a project.
- Location: Ideally based in the Philippines or India
