Description and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Software/Platform Engineer, a position with hands-on in IIB/ACE development. He/she will be responsible for hands-on development, design and technical solutions that are primarily based on IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and Microsoft Azure technologies. MetLife is part of the API economy and is using APIs internally and externally to provide a state-of-the-art digital experience to serve our customers.
Software or Platform engineering role can be used where the work requires a minimal amount of technology stack capabilities, work on a single application or roles that support platforms, SaaS, COTS
Key Relationships:
Internal Stake Holder - EMEA ART Leader, ART Leadership team, India EMEA Technology AVP, and Business process Owners for EMEA Technology.
Key Reponsibilites:

• Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC.
• Design and development skills using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/middleware technologies such as IBM's ACE, other Integration tools.
• Experience in Linux, ESQL, Java, Web Services, Tomcat, Spring boot, along with good knowledge of jQuery, Java and JavaScript based libraries required.
• Deal with system integration and contributing to technical documentation.
• Participating in project planning sessions to analyze business requirements.
• Participating in design reviews to improve designs.
• Taking part in code reviews to ensure that solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications.
• Reducing company costs by implementing better and more efficient services.
• Adhering to strict IT Control Policies.
• Document specifications and translate tech requirement into software application modules.
• Support QA and UAT teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Manage relationships and expectations with key project stakeholders.
• Ability to understand and communicate complicated business concepts.

Education:
Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
Technical Skills:

• Main Skill: Strong experience in Information technology in designing and developing APIs using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/middleware platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational and SQL databases and IBM ACE v11 or more.
• Hands-on experience in requirements definition and analysis (writing use cases, data mapping artifacts, creating swaggers, etc.)
• Experience in an Agile & Dev Ops Methodology environment.
• Experience developing in Cloud environment is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple small to medium scale projects in parallel.
• Demonstrate analytical and In-depth problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in the Insurance industry is a significant advantage
• IBM IIB/ACE certification
• Development experience in Cloud mainly in Azure ecosystems.
• Experience working with Agile Project Management tools namely Jira and Azure DevOps.
