The Edge Applications Engineering team develops software that is used to develop and provision applications that optimize caching for Akamai's distributed network. This software enables top-tier performance, reliability and efficient delivery of customers' content. It is a critical component that is an integral part of some of the top media companies.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll design, develop, and maintain our provisioning and caching applications solving complex, engaging Internet-scale problems.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Analyzing designing and implementing system software. This brings functionality, accuracy, reliability, and scalability to the provisioning and caching applications.
• Developing innovative and elegant solutions in a highly dynamic environment.
• Collaborating across engineering teams and other stakeholders to integrate and deliver features, bug fixes, enhancements, investigation reports on time.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Have experience working with frontend frameworks like AngularJS.
• Have experience working with Java based web applications.
• Have willingness to work across both frontend and backend features.
• Have experience developing and deploying applications on a container based platform an understanding about distributed systems and the HTTP delivery ecosystem.
