Our Platform Engineering & AI Enablement team develops the enterprise's AI backbone, including MCP servers, authentication frameworks, and multi-agent systems. They deploy an AI development platform organization-wide, creating infrastructure to ensure AI agents are secure, observable, and governable at scale.

Seeking a Software Engineer II to join the AI enablement team and develop backend services supporting enterprise AI initiatives. Responsibilities include MCP server development, AuthN/AuthZ frameworks, API governance, and orchestration platforms. This role offers real ownership of production systems and opportunities to gain expertise in a rapidly evolving area of enterprise software.
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, building, and maintaining backend services and APIs supporting enterprise agentic AI initiatives.
- Developing and enhancing Model Context Protocol servers, incorporating internal and external tools and data sources into the agent ecosystem.
- Implementing AuthN/AuthZ frameworks (OAuth2/OIDC, token exchange, mTLS) to secure MCP servers, agents, and LLM traffic effectively.
- Developing Python-based services and integrating with agentic or LLM orchestration frameworks as project needs evolve.
- Governing enterprise API gateway platforms, managing MCP servers, agents, LLM usage, and implementing orchestration workflows using appropriate enterprise tools.
- Collaborating with architects, security, and platform teams to transform AI governance requirements into functional infrastructure solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Demonstrate 3 to 5 years of backend software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Possess hands-on experience in Python, with the ability to work across backend services and AI/agent frameworks.
- Demonstrate experience in designing and building APIs, including REST and GraphQL integration.
- Demonstrate expertise with AuthN/AuthZ concepts like OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, token exchange, and mTLS, applying them in practical systems.
- Show expertise with API gateways or integration platforms, understanding microservices architecture alongside the core principles of distributed systems.
- Have exposure to MCP, event streaming platforms like Kafka, Spark, Flink, Redis, identity management, and cloud deployments using Docker/Kubernetes.
- Be self-motivated, highly responsible, and have good communication skills
