What you'll do

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in one of our teams, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications or systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create efficient and reliable software solutions, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities may also include troubleshooting issues, optimizing code, and staying updated with emerging technologies.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer Lead who will:

This position is responsible to design, build, deploy, and managing functionalities for our cloud-based SaaS platform Ascendon. You will be playing the role of Software Development Engineer, Lead with the Ascendon Core Ordering team. This team is responsible for build out of the Ascendon Core Ordering and Payment component of Ascendon. The Ascendon Core Ordering component is a SasS based, AWS Cloud Native, multi-tenanted, Billing system targeting B2C billing for the Telecommunication industry. You will be part of a collaborative, motivated global team to build innovative and progressive solutions for CSG's biggest customers.

• You will report to Scrum Master to contribute toward Encompass Engineering team.
• You will design and implement custom Kubernetes controllers and operators using Go (Golang).
•  You will author and maintain Helm charts to standardize and simplify application deployments.
• You will contribute to the evolution of our Kubernetes-based platform for delivering Encompass in production.
• You will develop tooling, libraries, and frameworks to improve automation, testing, and reliability.
• You own and improve CI/CD workflows for delivering Encompass in production.
• You will partner with external teams to define and support production-ready deployment patterns.
• You will conduct code reviews, write automated tests, and ensure high engineering standards.
• You will continually learn and stay on top of Kubernetes, cloud-native trends, and evolving best practices.
• You will architect and design complex software.
• You will providing coaching and technical support to others.
• You will analyze and optimize code and system performance independently.
• You will leverage and adopt of AI tools wherever possible to increase your efficiency and throughput.

•  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
•  Proficiency in English in a business environment
•  5 years of previous development experience
•  Experience in Golang or other programming languages for systems programming or backend services.
•  Well versed with Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and operations.
•  Proficiency in writing custom Kubernetes controllers using the Operator SDK and controller-runtime.
•  Proficiency with Helm for packaging and deploying Kubernetes applications.
•  Deep understanding of Kubernetes in production, including observability, security, and scalability considerations.
•  Understanding of high availability and fault tolerance concepts.
•  Excellent knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and environment promotion flows.
•  Strong testing and debugging skills, with a focus on automation and reliability.
•  Strong expertise in multiple programming languages and deep knowledge of software architecture.
•  Adopter and advocate of AI tools to assist in various phases of SDLC.
•  Working knowledge of Unix, SQL, C/C++, Perl, scripting.
