A Senior Technical Writer at BrowserStack:

• Builds high-quality technical content in easy-to-understand plain, clear, and simple language in an attempt to continuously improve BrowserStack documentation
• Creates templates for other writers to leverage
• Contributes to setting process and building the style guide
• Independently owns the documentation roadmap for assigned BrowserStack products
• Works with Product Managers, the Design team, and Engineering to build documentation for their product
• Develops a solid understanding of the product by trying, testing, and simulating user behavior with the content
• Sets up IDEs and debugs a few lines of code
• Translates code snippets in one programming language to other programming

languages.

Requirements :

Technical Skills:

• A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
• 3-7 years of experience in building technical developer documentation in technology companies
• Sound knowledge of version control tools like Git, software development lifecycle, DevOps tools like Jenkins and test practices (does not have to be in a professional context)
• Comfortable with IDEs (VSCode), APIs, and programming language (any) to understand the concepts and convert to user-understandable formats
• Can read and understand code in any one language. Should be able to use tools like Google to translate code into other languages
• Has working experience of Markdown
• Impeccable writing and editing skill

Soft Skills:

• Be a team player - work with our world-class engineers and designers to come up with creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
• Great communication and collaboration skills
• Should be able to mentor junior writers and help eliminate roadblocks
