Manage and standardize R&D lab infrastructure worldwide: configure, install, maintain lab and network equipment, servers, and cloud resources; enforce cybersecurity and compliance (TL9000, ISO standards); handle tickets/SLA support; manage inventory, procurement, budgeting (Capex/Opex), and drive lab improvements and integrations for SW/HW/system testing.
The R&D Lab Specialist configures, designs, installs, maintains, and handles R&D laboratory equipment and laboratory networks for the use of delivery teams. Procures, (budgets,) and integrates new products and solutions in the services laboratory. Ensures availability of laboratory equipment and maintains physical and environmental standards. Supports the integration, verification, testing, and modification of SW / HW / system components.
Responsibilities- Responsible for all activities related to Lab Operation, IT Management, Cyber Security, Server infrastructure, and Sustainability.
- Align and standardize lab infra management world-wide – Implementation of common tool and processes across all labs
- Cloud infra: E.g. allocate needed resources in order to support DevOps transformation & Lab to Cloud strategy.
- Lab-IT management: Maintaining a server, network planning, coordination with IT for new network requests/modifications, outages, firewall adaptations…
- Cybersecurity implementation, monitoring, Vulnerability Management Program in order to comply with Cyber security requirement.
- Quality adherence: ESD and calibration. TL9000, ISO45000, 14000, 27000 and BCP
- Daily Lab support to all DU’s based through Ticketing system via SLA and ad hoc interventions for problem solving
- Capex & Opex – Budget Consolidation, Optimization
- Equipment Ordering, Shipment tracking, installation and registration.
- Lab Inventory Management, tracking utilization.
- Drive lab improvement program, innovation, tool enhancement.
You have:
- B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline
- 10-12 years of experience in Networking & Telecom domain
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLAN, routing & switching)
- Experience in installation, configuration, and powering of network/telecom equipment
- Working knowledge of OS installation and security patch updates
- Hands-on experience in ticket handling with understanding of SLA concepts
- Exposure to lab/network environment management including maintenance, backups, and restoration
- Good communication skills, positive attitude; CCNA or equivalent certification is an added advantage
