- Design, build and operate core components of Atlassian's data platform across streaming ingestion (Flink) and MPP query/serving (StarRocks), with high ownership from technical design to launch.
- Deliver solutions that are used by other teams and products across Atlassian.
- Own operational excellence for high-scale data platform systems in production-reliability, performance tuning, cost, and data quality/observability.
- Tackle complex architecture challenges, apply architectural standards, and drive them on new projects.
- Lead code reviews and documentation, and take on complex bug fixes, especially on high-risk problems.
- Set the standard for thorough, meaningful code reviews.
- Partner across engineering teams to contribute to initiatives spanning multiple projects.
- Mentor more junior members of the team.

Core Qualifications
- 6+ years in software engineering with strong distributed-systems / data-engineering depth.
- Hands-on experience in data platform systems: streaming/ingestion (Flink; Spark acceptable) and/or MPP query engines (StarRocks / Trino / Apache Pinot / Apache Doris).
- Experience with operational management of high-scale data platform systems (production reliability, performance tuning, data quality/observability).
- Strong coding (Java/Scala/Python) and cloud data infrastructure (GCP/AWS).
- Open-source contributions to relevant projects are a strong positive.
