Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Data Modernization
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore (Hybrid)

CommSec’s systems utilise a variety of technologies and support a broad range of investors. To ensure the CommSec achieves a sustainable competitive advantage through data engineering, you will play a key role in supporting and executing the CommSec's data strategy.
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Modernization Squad, which is part of the wider Technology Platform Crew. Bring your expertise in building scalable frameworks on cloud platform, with focus on automation and innovation.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Liaise with data users across the business to understand their data needs

Work with stakeholders who consume the data to specify what data is to be stored and curated

Identify, explore, analyse and document source data and systems
-
Interactively analyse complex data using various data analysis techniques across various sources against business requirements
-
Perform data preparation activities by cleansing and preparing data for consumption
-
Specify Data ingestion mapping and transformations rules, with reconciliation & validation
-
Building the Data Products and Design data models as per the business requirements
-
Design and Implementation of Data frameworks while building the data platform
-
Implement data ingestion pipelines using right ingestion pattern
-
Implement data assets, QA the results, and facilitate acceptance testing
-
Investigation and analysis of data quality, and facilitate resolution of issues with data producers
-
Identify issues and risks, and suggest appropriate solutions to mitigate or resolve the risk/issue
-
Documentation, training and support for business users related to data platform
Essential Skills:
-
7+ years’ experience in design, ETL/ELT development using SSIS and exposure to AWS ETL tools.

Experience in traditional Data Warehousing, modern Data Lake design and development.
-
Strong understanding of Star Schema and Kimball modelling.
-
Experience in data solution design for complex data warehouse and data lake environments.
-
Understanding of business intelligence, data management, data quality, and ETL frameworks.
-
Experience with relational database management systems.
-
Experience with any cloud data stacks and big data platforms.
-
Expertise in SQL and data analysis, with working knowledge of different file types: structured (CSV), semi structured (JSON, XML), row store and column store.
-
Data/Dimensional modelling with an eye to usability and performance.
-
Experience working with APIs and data query engines to interrogate data.
-
Experience across batch, real time and streaming data solutions.
Education Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
