Manage and support MS SQL Server and Oracle databases in a banking environment, including on‑premises clustering, replication, DR, advanced troubleshooting, and SQL query performance tuning. Ensure high availability, resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with infrastructure, application, and network teams to maintain operational reliability.
WE are looking for a highly experienced Senior MS SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to manage and support critical database infrastructure within a banking environment.
The ideal candidate must have strong banking experience and extensive hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, including on-premises clustering, replication, Disaster Recovery (DR), advanced troubleshooting, and SQL query performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support MS SQL Server and Oracle databases in a critical banking environment.
- Manage and maintain on-premises MS SQL and Oracle database clusters.
- Configure and support database clustering, replication, and DR environments.
- Support database replication between primary production environments and DR sites.
- Troubleshoot complex database availability, performance, and connectivity issues.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and fine-tuning of MS SQL queries.
- Analyze query execution and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure database environments maintain high availability and operational reliability.
- Support database-related incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, network, and other technical teams to resolve database issues.
- Support database maintenance and operational activities in accordance with banking requirements.
Requirements
- Banking experience – Mandatory.
- 10+ years of total IT experience.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Database and Oracle.
- Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL clustering in on-premises environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle clustering in on-premises environments.
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL and Oracle replication.
- Hands-on experience supporting DR sites and database replication/DR environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting and MS SQL query performance tuning experience.
