Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Marketing CRM and Automation Administrator to own the day-to-day management, configuration, and optimization of our Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. This role is centered on Salesforce Marketing Cloud, also commonly referred to as SFMC or ExactTarget, and focuses on practical platform administration across automations, campaigns, email builds, and ongoing operational support for the marketing team. In this role, you will serve as the primary system administrator and technical backbone for this part of our marketing operations, enabling the broader team to move faster while maintaining platform stability and execution quality.

What You'll Do

  • System Administration and Governance: Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Manage day-to-day platform administration, user access, permissions, business unit setup, and overall platform health and maintenance.

  • Workflow, Automations, and Campaign Execution: Build, troubleshoot, and optimize automations, journeys, campaign workflows, and triggered email activity within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Support the team on the operational execution of campaigns and automation programs used in day-to-day marketing work.

  • Template and Asset Management: Support email building, content configuration, and template management to help ensure brand consistency and efficient campaign execution.

  • Data and Audience Management: Help maintain clean audience data, segmentation logic, targeting, suppression practices, and related platform configuration needed to support accurate campaign delivery.

  • User Support and Enablement: Act as a primary technical point of contact for marketers using the platform. Troubleshoot day-to-day issues, answer platform questions, and provide practical guidance on best practices and execution.

  • Issue Triage and Vendor Escalation: Help triage platform issues and partner with internal and external resources when escalation is required to resolve product or support issues.

  • Innovation and Proof of Concepts: Partner with leadership on testing new capabilities, supporting proof-of-concept work, and helping manage related tools or homegrown solutions as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in marketing automation, marketing operations, or a related technical administration role, with the ability to take ownership after onboarding and run independently.

  • Technical Stack: Deep administrative experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud is strongly preferred. Experience with SFMC, ExactTarget, journeys, automations, campaigns, and email builders is especially relevant for this role. Experience with Pardot or other Salesforce marketing tools is helpful, but this position is primarily focused on Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration.

  • Problem Solver: You have a strong analytical mindset and a proven ability to troubleshoot workflows, permissions, integrations, and other platform issues in a practical, hands-on way.

  • Collaborator and Translator: You can translate technical platform concepts into actionable guidance for non-technical users and work effectively with cross-functional partners supporting marketing execution.

  • Adaptability: You are comfortable learning new tools quickly and working in a changing environment where processes and platform usage may continue to evolve.

  • Product Owner Mindset: You approach systems with a mindset of continuous improvement, operational sustainability, and better long-term maintainability rather than purely reactive support.
