- Proactively identify and resolve system availability, performance concerns as well as ensure system security.
- Create and maintain backup/restore, encryption and replication strategies between various database environments.
- Participate in and influence the design, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives regarding database architecture.
- Translate business requirements into database strategies and initiatives and drive the execution. Influence business stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools.
- Experience with performance tuning utilizing indexes, disk and query optimizations, and other methods.
- Experience with database security, replication and failover mechanisms.
- Experience with encryption methodologies for databases.
- Experience with database clustering techniques.
- Experience with Postgres databases and supplemental technologies.
- Good to have experience with Oracle.
Education and Experience:
- Ten or more years of direct experience working as a Postgres Database Administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant experience.
