Job title: Senior Data Scientist
Job duties: A Senior Data Scientist drives execution and plays a vital role in building a culture of innovation at Fortive. They will build, manage, and inspire alongside a multi-functional team that solves for our toughest growth obstacles. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs. Formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that include data gathering, analysis, scaled deliverables, recommendations, and presentations to stakeholders. Contribute to a wide variety of research projects using statistical analysis and modeling. Develop and automate reports, and iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Drive execution and build a culture of innovation. Build and manage alongside a multi-functional team solving far growth challenges. Design and implement tools for internal Data Science toolbox. Continually test and validate performance of data-driven products. Experiment with new models and techniques to build continuous improvement. Evaluate and recommend tools that can expedite time-to-value and time-to-market. Contribute to data mining and collection procedures to ensure data quality and integrity, and act as a resource to help drive the analytical scope and method for projects, including formulating and shaping projects. Develop and implement. Unsupervised Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms for predicting asset failure. Develop and implement Computer Vision models for defect detection and classification. Develop. Generative Al solutions for improving operational productivity and accelerating engineering feature releases. Apply statistical packages and machine learning tools, including R. Python, AWS, Tensor Flow, Keras, and SQL to perform duties. Build analytics for customer segmentation around usage and customer information. Build pipelines to implement models for customer churn prediction. Design and evaluate experiments for customer retention based on statistical analysis. Build reusable tools to detect data and model drift, and to track data quality and model performance in production over time.
Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Theory, Language Technologies or related field.
Experience: 4 years of experience as a Data Scientist or related occupation.
Key Requirements: Must have experience in the following:
- Proven track record of success in applying data science techniques to real-world business problems such as reduction of churn or increase in bookings growth.
- Programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and data manipulation and visualization libraries: pandas and matplotlib.
- Machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and statistical modeling.
- Big data technologies and platforms: Spark and cloud computing services: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Present technical concepts to Presidents and their direct reports.
- Stakeholder management, project coordination, and communication within a data science or related technical environment.
