Job Responsibilities:
Roles & Responsibilities:• CAE Model Development: Prepare detailed Finite Element (FE) models of automotive seating systems and their integration with the vehicle Body-In-White (BIW)/ test fixture data using pre-processing tools like HyperMesh, PRIMER, or ANSA.• Crash Simulation & Analysis: Set up, run, and validate explicit dynamic crash and safety simulations using the LS-DYNA solver.• NVH Simulation & Analysis: Set up, run, and validate NVH analysis (e.g. Modal, FRF, etc.) simulations using the OPTISTRUCT solver.• Regulatory Compliance: Perform analyses to ensure compliance with local and global safety standards and regulations, including AIS,ECE (e.g. R14,R17,R21, etc.),FMVSS (e.g., 207, 208, 210, 225), NCAP protocols (Euro NCAP, G-NCAP, etc.), and UN-EU regulations.• Design Optimization: Interpret simulation results, analyze failure modes, and provide clear recommendations and countermeasures to design teams for product optimization and improvement.• Post-Processing & Reporting: Utilize post-processing tools such as LS-PrePost, HyperView, or d3plot to interpret data (acceleration curves, energy absorption, displacement), prepare comprehensive technical reports, and present findings to customers.• Correlation & Validation: Collaborate with physical testing teams to correlate simulation results with test data, propose refinement in CAE methodologies as needed.• Problem Solving: Identify technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop feasible engineering solutions within project deadlines.• Mentorship & Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams (design, testing, project management) and potentially mentor junior analysts.
Required Qualifications and Skills:• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.• Experience: Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in automotive crash safety analysis, specifically with seating systems.• Technical Proficiency:
o Expertise in explicit dynamics simulation using LS-DYNA.
o Expertise in NVH simulation using OPTISTRUCT.
o Proficiency in pre-processing tools (HyperMesh, PRIMER,ANSA) for meshing, assembly, and load setting.
o Proficiency in post-processing tools (LS-PrePost, HyperView, D3plot).
o Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, finite element analysis (FEA), non-linear materials, and dynamics.
