Ensure reliable backups, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity. Support VMware/Hyper-V virtual environments and Windows/Linux servers while managing RPO/RTO objectives and protecting systems from cyber threats.
We are seeking an experienced Backup Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise backup, recovery, and cyber resilience solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering Veritas NetBackup, Dell Data Domain, Dell Cyber Recovery Solution (CRS), and Dell EMC backup technologies, ensuring reliable backup operations, disaster recovery readiness, and protection against cyber threats. The candidate should also have experience supporting VMware or Hyper-V environments and Windows/Linux servers.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, configure, and maintain Veritas NetBackup enterprise backup infrastructure, including backup policies, schedules, storage units, media servers, and clients.
- Monitor daily backup and restore operations, proactively identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful completion of all backup jobs.
- Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations for enterprise applications, databases, virtual machines, and file systems.
- Administer and support Dell Data Domain appliances, including storage management, DD Boost configuration, replication, retention policies, capacity monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Configure, maintain, and support Dell Cyber Recovery Solution (CRS), including Cyber Recovery Vault, recovery policies, orchestration workflows, and cyber recovery testing.
- Support Dell EMC backup solutions such as PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Dell NetWorker as required.
- Conduct disaster recovery (DR) testing and validate backup recoverability to ensure compliance with business continuity requirements.
- Monitor backup infrastructure capacity, storage utilization, and system health, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Manage backup lifecycle activities, including software upgrades, patches, firmware updates, and backup infrastructure maintenance.
- Protect backup environments against cyber threats by implementing immutable backup practices, ransomware protection measures, and cyber recovery best practices.
- Support backup operations for VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, virtualization, security, database, and application teams to ensure reliable backup and recovery services.
- Support Windows Server and Linux environments from a backup and recovery perspective.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup, recovery, and system administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup administration.
- Experience administering Dell Data Domain appliances.
- Experience with Dell EMC backup solutions, including:
- Cyber Recovery Solution (CRS)
- Data Domain
- PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM)
- Dell NetWorker
Solid understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including:
- RPO (Recovery Point Objective)
- RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
- Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Business Continuity
