Job Title: Senior Analyst – Research

    Job Function: Asset Management Services

Job Sub Function: Strategy & Research

    Location: Mumbai

    Job Purpose

This role will support three core functions within the Life Investment Office (LIO) UK team. The individual will be responsible for end‑to‑end process management across these areas, which includes oversight of fund managers’ stewardship activities through SRD II process and Voting and Engagement activities, performance analysis, peer benchmarking, and secondary research on investment managers. The role also involves presenting key findings to stakeholders, defining critical data elements, ensuring appropriate governance frameworks are in place, and supporting the business in establishing robust monitoring and data‑quality processes.

Three LIO teams are currently supported, Manager Oversight, Long Term Investment Strategy and ESG & Regulatory

The Manager Oversight team operates across three primary pillars: Manager & Fund Selection, Ongoing Oversight, and Mandate Design. These activities combine both quantitative and qualitative analysis, culminating in the team’s proprietary Investment Due Diligence (IDD) Scorecard, which articulates final views on fund managers.

The ESG team plays a complementary role by integrating ESG considerations across LIO and the wider asset‑owner activities. This includes responsibilities related to Environmental, Social and Governance assessments, reporting, regulatory reviews, and the development and implementation of the ESG Investment Policy and broader ESG investment strategy.

The Long Term Investment Strategy team are responsible for research, modelling and the strategic asset allocation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing frameworks and process maps for all existing workflows, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving automation where possible. As a Senior Analyst within the LIO team, the individual will support fund‑manager oversight, monitor year‑on‑year stewardship activities, and assist in the preparation of board and committee materials that communicate fund‑manager performance and policies to M&G Global Asset Owner teams and other internal stakeholders.

This role requires close interaction with M&G Global Asset Owner teams, involving hands‑on analysis of fund performance, data inconsistencies, monitoring outputs, and reporting requirements. The individual will also collaborate with central teams to ensure that LIO meets its stewardship obligations. A key aspect of the role is to serve as the connecting link across the three LIO functions—identifying overlapping processes, eliminating inefficiencies, and creating synergies through better stakeholder management, cross‑functional process alignment, and committee‑level reporting.

Success in this position will require the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrate strong organisational and prioritisation skills, and apply sound business judgment in a dynamic environment.
