As a Senior Accounts Officer at BSM, Ensures and controls the efficient corporate accounting operation of all legal entities handles all accounting activities in order to achieve compliance with the local tax and accounting legislation and standards. Provides to management thorough analysis on accounting operations, so as to facilitate the accurate decision making.
1. Prepares & reviews all financial statements and transactions, invoices and other accounting reports and ensures that they are timely and accurately prepared, executed and uploaded in the respective accounting system, in order to ensure the compliance of all business operations with BSM.
2. Ensures and monitors that all accounting records are daily updated and maintained in accordance with BSM accounting policies, chart of accounts, and local accounting principles and practices.
3. Monitors and controls the accuracy of all accounting transactions and proceeds to their reconciliation, to ensure compliance with BSM accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles. Ensures that all BSM accounting policies and practices fully comply with the rules and regulations of BSM
4. Handles and forecasts the cash flow requirements, prepares cash flow reports, to support the efficient operation of the BSM and enhance the accurate and fair utilisation of financial resources.
5. Handles relationships with Banks, to facilitate the provision of high quality and cost-effective services to BSM
6. Monitors and controls the timely and accurate execution of payments due and identifies potential discrepancies providing analytical reporting to management, while liaises with the respective department(s) for resolution of payment, thus supporting the enhancement of the company’s cash flow
7. Ensures the accurate issuance of invoices and cheques, to comply with payment obligations and contractual agreements
8. Coordinates, incorporates and oversees the development and preparation of all required tax and financial statements and balance sheet, securing that all required documents are timely submitted to the respective local authorities, safeguarding BSM compliance with local legislation.
9. Keeps up to date with changes in the accounting legislation and reviews the operation of the department, proposing and, upon approval, implementing improvements in policies, procedures and guidelines, enhancing the smooth and efficient workflow of the department and its compliance with local and international accounting standards.
10. Develops analytical reporting regarding the accounting transactions and the financial status of the company, to provide management with valuable information to support decision making
11. Prepares and upon approval implements and follows-up BSM budget, identifies potential discrepancies in its execution and overviews the development of the analytical periodical monthly accounting reports according to the requirements and processes of BSM, in order to provide management with the requirement information.
12 Coordinates, coaches and motivates his team, through the appropriate training, development, management of performance and salary progression to ensure that staff have the appropriate knowledge, skills and support that will help them perform effectively and contribute to the achievement of the department’s desired short and long-term objectives.
13 To handle all tasks delegated / assigned by the FC
14 Participate in the execution of external and internal audits, providing all the required information to the auditors, to facilitate their accurate and fast execution. Monitors and follows up on the results of the external audits, to protect company’s interests.
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in Finance, Qualified CA mandatory
Work Experience:
Minimum 1 or 2 years’ experience.
Skills & Competencies
Very good knowledge of accounting and relevant legislation
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
Advanced analytical thinking

Good interpersonal and communication skills
Very good people management skills
Fluency in English
