Administer and support SAP Basis and HANA environments across cloud and on-premises landscapes. Responsibilities include system monitoring, performance tuning, transports, client administration, upgrades, backups, recovery, security, troubleshooting, database administration, SAP integrations, high-availability replication, clustering, and system migrations. The role also supports Oracle, SQL, and DB2 databases, SAP tools, Linux/Unix environments, and HANA scale-up and scale-out configurations.

SAP Basis and HANA Database Administrator
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis and HANA Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in SAP Basis operations and HANA database administration. This role involves managing and maintaining our SAP landscape, including system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security enhancements. The candidate should possess expertise in various database technologies, especially HANA, and be well-versed in SAP system integration and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform SAP Basis operations, including production support activities, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Manage SAP transports, client administration, system copy, and system start/stop procedures.
- Maintain and optimize SAP printers, ensuring efficient document processing.
- Administer Oracle, SQL, and DB2 databases, managing memory, performance tuning, backup, and restore activities.
- Troubleshoot issues related to the SAP HANA database, ensuring system stability and availability.
- Work with BOBI, BODS, and Fiori technologies within the SAP landscape.
- Utilize SAP Solution Manager for effective system management and monitoring.
- Oversee SAP HANA Database administration both on cloud and on-premises environments.
- Perform HANA DB and revision patch upgrades to maintain system security and functionality.
- Implement HANA database security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Manage HANA installations in High Isolation scenarios and ensure integration with ECC using SLT Replication Servers or services.
- Conduct HANA stack upgrades and maintain system backups, recovery, and security for both single tenant and multi-tenant setups.
- Utilize various HANA database tools such as HANA Studio, HLM, and HDMLCM.
- Use SUM/DMO tool for Upgrade/Migration tasks and ensure successful installations of HANA client, HANA Cockpit, and HANA Studio.
- Monitor the SAP HANA system landscape and address any issues proactively.
- Set up and administer HANA HSR (High Availability System Replication) configurations.
- Possess knowledge of SUSE/RHEL cluster setups for HANA Database.
- Understand HANA Scaleup and Scaleout strategies, along with sizing requirements.
- Familiarity with HANA NSE (Nearline Storage) and Data Temperature management.
- Work proficiently with Linux/Unix operating systems to support SAP environments effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in SAP Basis administration and HANA database management.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle, SQL, and DB2 database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with BOBI, BODS, Fiori, and SAP Solution Manager.
- Proficiency in SAP HANA Database administration in both cloud and on-premises environments.
- In-depth understanding of HANA DB security, backup, recovery, and patching.
- Experience with SAP landscape integration and system copy procedures.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA stack upgrades, tools, and monitoring techniques.
- Ability to work with HANA HSR configurations and SUSE/RHEL clusters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective issue resolution.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications in SAP Basis or HANA administration will be a plus.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages.
