Job description:

PROCUREMENT MANAGER (MUMBAI)

Lead procurement delivery for a global maritime fleet in a fast paced, operationally critical role. As Procurement Manager, you will take full ownership of ensuring vessels receive the right goods and services on time, at the right cost—directly impacting fleet performance and reliability.
You will manage and develop a team of buyers, working closely with Vessel Managers and Technical teams to solve real operational challenges daily. This role offers strong exposure to complex vessel operations, including tankers, bulk carriers and specialist ships, and requires a practical, hands-on approach.
If you are driven, commercially sharp, and thrive under pressure, this is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, influence outcomes, and build your leadership profile within one of the world’s leading ship management companies.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to support our fleet operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services to vessels worldwide.

This is a hands-on operational role with direct responsibility for a team of buyers, and full accountability for delivery performance to the fleet.

What you will do

  • Ensure all procurement deliveries meet vessel schedules – no delays, no surprises
  • Manage and develop a team of buyers (direct reports)
  • Work directly with Vessel Managers and Technical teams on daily operational needs
  • Drive cost control and challenge supplier pricing
  • Manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery)
  • Resolve urgent and critical supply issues impacting vessels
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and systems

What we are looking for

  • 6–10 years maritime procurement experience
  • Hands-on experience with tankers, bulk carriers or heavy lift vessels
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • Strong understanding of vessel operations, spares, and logistics
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent situations
  • Experience with BASSnet or similar procurement systems

Why join us

  • Work with one of the world’s largest ship managers
  • Exposure to a diverse and complex global fleet
  • High-impact role with real operational responsibility
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a team
