OVERVIEW:

The Principal Enterprise Solutions Architect – Marketing is a critical role within CyberEA (Cyber and Enterprise Architecture) group of General Mill’s D&T (Digital and Technology) organization who interfaces across business and technology stakeholders. The Enterprise Solution Architect will understand business needs, assess the current state and design the target state solution that meets business needs while driving clarity, enabling enterprise agility, and mitigating risk.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and accountability for technology decisions across all segments/business units.
  • Design and architect end-to-end MarTech solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and platforms.
  • Define architectural patterns, standards, and guidelines for the MarTech domain.
  • Evaluate and recommend MarTech technologies and platforms based on business requirements, technical feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain architectural artifacts, including solution blueprints, diagrams, and documentation.
  • Visibility into all projects impacting the Marketing domain and platforms.
  • Ensure technical components of our top initiatives are on track.
  • Contribute to Tech solutions catalog, Tech Selection and Tech Intake process.
  • Provide inputs to RFI/RFP - technical criteria, weightage, evaluating vendors.
  • Match solutions with the requirements of stakeholders and enterprise principles, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure solution compliance with non-functional requirements (Security, Platform, Integration, Data, Operations, etc.)
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, engineering and vendor/partner teams, to ensure alignment on architectural direction and solution delivery.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate architectural reviews and governance processes to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other Enterprise and Solution Architects to create Technology Reference Models, Reference Architecture; conduct market scans, Architecture PoV (Point of View) based on industry research and implement PoC (Proof of concepts) solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Stay abreast of the latest MarTech technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies and approaches to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of MarTech solutions, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years of IT experience
  • 3+ years of leading complex IT projects through solutioning, designing, and architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecting and strategizing the digital marketing technology solutions in the areas of MarTech (e.g. CMS, DAM, MRM, CDP, Marketing Automation), AdTech (DSP, DMP) and adjacent digital technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the MarTech domain with expertise in CMS, DAM, MRM, Social Relationship Management, Collaboration Work Management, Personalization Engines and Campaign Management technologies.
  • Deep understanding of consumer data (1st, 2nd and 3rd party data and consent management) and how it relates to enable marketing use cases – personalization, targeting, consumer analytics, insights.
  • Experience in architecture and design of marketing, advertising and marketing data/analytics platforms from big MarTech vendors (e.g. Adobe, Salesforce, Google) as well as niche players (e.g. Sprout Social etc.).
  • Understanding of marketing & advertising platform ecosystems and interplay of MarTech/AdTech components with the broader enterprise ecosystem (e.g. Sales and Service Tech stack, Datalake).
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise solutions to the public cloud and/or SaaS.Experience with reporting systems like Tableau or Looker.
  • Broad understanding of integration concepts and experience with MuleSoft or similar integration technologies.
  • Broad understanding of Cloud Computing concepts, processes & tools required for cloud adoption including cloud security, governance, integration, and performance.
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills.
  • Experience with vetting packaged solutions against business/technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in architecture diagraming tools (LucidChart, Visio, etc.).
  • Experience with content generation and content automation tools using GenAI is a plus.

  • Software Development experience
  • Experience with agile techniques and methods
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and Cyber Security
  • Experience with Data & Analytics concepts and tools
  • Experience with modern Software Engineering principles
  • Experience at CPG companies
