Photo Video Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Revenue & Target Achievement: Own the delivery of photo and video revenue targets for each voyage, including Platinum Studio and other premium offerings, proactively identifying opportunities to grow sales and improve conversion.
• Operational & Visual Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end operation of the Photo & Video department, ensuring all marketing, visual directives, displays, and workflows are executed accurately, on time, and in line with corporate guidelines.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse Photo & Video team, setting clear expectations, providing regular coaching, and creating individualized development plans to support performance and career growth.
• Performance Management: Monitor key performance indicators such as image count, sales per guest, and attach rates; conduct timely performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and implement Performance Improvement Plans where required.
• Guest Experience & Service Recovery: Champion a guest-centric culture within the team, ensuring prompt, professional responses to guest enquiries, requests, and escalations, and personally handling complex or sensitive service recovery situations.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with the Business and Brand Director, Associate Hotel General Manager, and other onboard leaders to align campaigns, support onboard revenue initiatives, and share best practices across ships.
• Training & Communication: Conduct regular team and Assistant Photo Manager meetings to share business updates, review results, align on priorities, and reinforce service, safety, and brand standards.
• Inventory, Cost & Loss Control: Manage inventory, pricing, barcoding, and loss-prevention processes to protect company assets, control costs, and meet margin goals across photo, retail, and video lines of business.
• Quality & Brand Standards: Ensure all images, videos, and related products meet Princess Cruises’ quality standards, coaching the team on composition, technical execution, and brand-appropriate storytelling.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Uphold all company policies, Fleet Regulations, Public Health requirements, and emergency response procedures, role-modelling safe working practices and ensuring team compliance at all times.
• Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Complete accurate end-of-cruise and periodic business reports, highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities, and lead the implementation of agreed improvement actions.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Shipboard Photo & Video Leadership: Significant experience in a Photo Manager, Photo Video Manager, or comparable leadership role, ideally within the cruise industry or a high-volume hospitality, retail, or entertainment environment.
• Photography & Videography Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of digital photography and video production, including studio, candid, and event photography, as well as basic editing and post-production workflows.
• Commercial & Revenue Focus: Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets, with a solid understanding of retail principles, pricing, promotions, and margin management.
• People Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a diverse, multicultural team, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and managing performance fairly and consistently.
• Guest Service Excellence: A strong customer service mindset with the ability to engage confidently with guests, handle escalations professionally, and create memorable experiences that reflect the Princess Cruises brand.
• Operational & Organizational Skills: Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, busy trading periods, and competing deadlines without compromising quality.
• Communication & Collaboration: Confident verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present results, influence stakeholders, and build effective working relationships across departments and levels.
• Analytical & Reporting Ability: Comfortable working with KPIs and business reports, interpreting data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and translating insights into clear action plans.
• Systems & Technology: Competence in using point-of-sale systems and digital imaging software; experience with shipboard or hospitality systems and MedallionClass technology is an advantage.
• Public Health, Safety & Compliance Awareness: Good understanding of shipboard safety, environmental, and Public Health standards (e.g. USPH), with a commitment to following Company policies, Fleet Regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Resilience & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, shipboard environment, remaining calm, solution-focused, and flexible in response to operational demands and change.
