Lead international payment solution deployments for RuPay International, focusing on card issuing, acceptance, cross-border payment flows, FX, settlement, reconciliation, and API integrations. Engage issuers, processors, networks, central banks, and fintech partners; define architectures, implementation plans, testing strategies, and documentation. Coordinate product, technology, operations, risk, and compliance teams to manage dependencies and deliver market launches. Support new corridor expansion, partner onboarding, regulatory compliance, UAT, certification, and go-live execution.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Solutions professional with strong experience in Card Issing and Cross-Border Payment ecosystems to drive the global expansion of RuPay International. This role will focus on deploying end-to-end issuing and acceptance stacks in international markets.
The ideal candidate will own the end-to-end solutioning, design, and execution lifecycle, working closely with global partners, issuers, processors, and internal teams to deliver scalable payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solutioning & Partner Engagement
• Lead early-stage discussions with internal stakeholders and international partners (Central banks, processors, networks) to understand requirements.
• Drive solution design workshops for RuPay International issuing stack deployments in foreign markets.
• Own client interactions for card issuing and acceptance use cases.
2. End-to-End Solution Ownership
• Define solution architecture, scope, timelines, and delivery plans for international deployments.
• Ensure seamless integration across issuer processors, schemes, APIs, and settlement systems.
3. Cross-Border Payments Expertise
• Analyze and design payment flows involving:
o Card issuing (authorization, clearing, settlement)
o FX conversion and multi-currency handling
o Cross-border settlement cycles and reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (India + destination market).
4. Technical Solution Design
• Translate business requirements into detailed solution designs and API-based architectures.
• Design integrations with issuers, acquirers, payment processors, switches, and global networks.
• Provide clear articulation of technical workflows to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Program Execution & Coordination
• Work cross-functionally with product, technology, operations, risk, and compliance teams.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and ensure timely go-live in international markets.
• Track and monitor implementation metrics:
o Transaction success rates
o SLAs and uptime
o Settlement & reconciliation accuracy
6. Growth & Expansion
• Identify and enable new outbound corridors and international markets for RuPay acceptance and issuing.
• Collaborate with business development and fintech partnership teams to onboard global partners.
• Support market entry strategies and localization of payment solutions.
7. Documentation & Testing
• Create comprehensive:
o Solution documents
o Process flows
o API specifications
o Integration playbooks
• Develop test cases, test conditions, and test strategy documents for deployments.
• Ensure end-to-end UAT readiness and certification for partner integrations.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience
• 7-10 years of experience in BFSI/Payment’s domain, with strong exposure to:
o Card issuing ecosystem (mandatory)
o Payment networks, processors, and PSPs
• Hands-on experience in international payment deployments or scheme integrations preferred.
Domain Expertise
• Deep understanding of:
o Card issuing lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement)
o Cross-border payment flows and FX mechanics
o India outbound payment ecosystem (iUPI, RuPay, remittances)
• Working knowledge of:
o iUPI, NEFT, RTGS, SWIFT, ISO 8583/ISO 20022
o Reconciliation and settlement systems
Technical & Solutioning Skills
• Strong experience in:
o API-based integrations and payment switch connectivity
o System analysis and payment flow design
• Ability to deep dive into technical integrations and translate into business-ready solutions.
Program & Stakeholder Management
• Proven ability to manage:
o Cross-functional teams
o Multiple external partners (banks, fintechs, processors)
• Strong problem-solving and structured solutioning mindset.
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
• Ability to simplify complex payment architectures for diverse stakeholders
• Strong ownership and execution focus
Tools & Documentation
• Proficiency in:
o PowerPoint (solution presentations)
o Excel (tracking, analysis)
o Documentation tools (BRD, FRD, API specs)
Good to Have
• Experience with RuPay / National payment scheme deployments
• Exposure to international card scheme rollouts
• Familiarity with AI-driven solutioning or analytics in payments
