The Lead Engineer designs scalable solutions, develops APIs, oversees application deployment via CI/CD, collaborates with stakeholders, and ensures quality software delivery.
Job Overview:
The role involves understanding client and domain requirements to deliver high-quality software using established engineering principles and proprietary tools. The individual will focus on building reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions by following best practices such as test-driven development, automation, and reusability.
You will be responsible for designing scalable solutions, developing APIs and interfaces, and ensuring seamless application deployment through CI/CD pipelines. The role also requires active collaboration with stakeholders, accurate effort estimation, and timely delivery of tasks. Additionally, the candidate will support issue analysis, testing phases, and production fixes to ensure smooth operations and adherence to product SLAs.
Job Duties:
- Understand domain/client requirements and develop Quality software by practicing software engineering principles and best practices using Proprietary Toolkit of Majesco.
- Embrace First Time Right, Automation, Reusability, Maintainability and Secure Coding in everyday work
- Create holistic designs for development using a Test-Driven Development approach to ensure reusability & extensibility of capabilities in the future versions
- Independently drive the conversations with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the software delivered meets the business objectives and with the highest quality
- Support issue analysis/triaging and provide fixes during test phases, as well as production issue resolution to ensure key Product SLAs are met
- Estimating the effort required to complete the activities and sticking to timelines
- Developing new APIs and new interfaces
- Application Deployment using CI/CD
Mandatory Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in programming language(s) Java technologies
- PL-SQL/ SQL and web services software architecture and design (REST/SOAP)
- Experience on frontend frameworks like HTML5 and CSS3 and Web Standards and JavaScript
- Experience in source configuration tools like SVN and build creation tools
- For JB4 – Experience as Tech Lead & Designing skills
Desired Skills:
- For Billing - Prior knowledge on similar industry products like Duck Creek/Guidewire is preferred
- For DM – Prior knowledge in Broker/Channel Management/commission processing is preferred.
- Experience implementing North American Life & Annuity products is a plus
- Knowledge of Group and Individual North American L&A markets a plus
- Experience with SAFe Agile Development practices and processes. SAFe Practitioner certification preferred.
Qualification :
- Bachelor’s in Computer science / Engineering
