We're looking for a Java Backend Software Engineer to help build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services. You'll work on modern microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications while collaborating with product managers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver impactful solutions. What you’ll do & how you’ll make your mark.
Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Participate in architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and promote software quality across the team.
Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed.
5+ years of backend software development experience.
Strong experience with Java (Java 8+).
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and Docker.
Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with Spring Security.
Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to Spring AI or AI-powered application development.
Experience with OAuth2, JWT, or secure API development.
Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, REST APIs, Microservices, MySQL / PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka / RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, Maven / Gradle, Swagger / OpenAPI.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Passion for writing clean, maintainable code.
Ability to design scalable backend systems.
Ownership mindset with a focus on quality and reliability.
Comfortable working in Agile teams and collaborating across functions.
