About you and this role

Dow Industrial Solutions business is looking for an ISC Project Specialist, focusing on the Energy Segment of the business. This person will have responsibility and accountability for overall project results and achievement of project goals/objectives, as they relate to the business opportunity. Project Management is the key role to lead the cross functional project team through all phases of the project. Has responsibility and accountability for overall project deliverables and managing the end-to-end supply chain process by mitigating risks, managing costs and ensuring supply chain supports the overall success of the project. As business logistics is an integral part of the role, the candidate should have adequate understanding of logistics within the Middle East / India region.

In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small to medium projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. Working with and bringing together different functions within the regions while keeping the overview on the projects will be key to success. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others.

It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the leader of the project team accountable for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes. Develops project scope that meets the needs of the business opportunity and ensures stakeholders are aligned upon the scope through functional reviews
  • Ensures cost estimate adequately represents project scope and managing spending within the authorized budgets and spending plans. Works closely with business leadership to secure funding through the authorization process. Ensures project schedule is based upon sound data and aligned with business objectives and monitors progress closely against baseline plans. Ensures plans are in place to allow for smooth transition of the project to ISC.
  • Works with department leaders to secure lead resources and once assigned ensures staffing plans are developed and monitored against plan. Provides effective communication and coordination between the project team and key stakeholders and regular updates on scope, objectives/goals, cost, progress vs. plan and risks. Uses and enforces project change management program including securing DOA approvals per the process
  • Fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong safety focus that embraces diversity and inclusion, innovation and sustainability, and continuous improvement and empowerment Organize periodic review meetings to discuss the status of projects/ contracts and address any issues/ risks with clear documentation of action/ mitigation plans. Identify and manage risks associated with supply chain and implement best practices, based on knowledge of updated policies, and legal regulations.
  • Oversees the drafting and management of supply contracts in compliance with trade and legal regulations as per company policies. Responsible for import process, ensuring international & regional trade compliance, custom clearance, and tax requirements. Contingency planning: proactively develop and implement contingency plans for supply chain disruptions in collaborations with team members.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience in a Supply Chain
  • Education: University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences
  • The critical competencies required for success are supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork, team management and delegation, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills, project management skills, mentoring skills, independent decision-making skills
