ROLE SUMMARY
As a function in the Commercial Analytics & AI (CAAI) division within Pfizer, Insights Strategy & Execution (ISE) plays a critical role to enable Pfizer's commercial brand strategy. This team functions as internal consultants and brand strategists that partner with senior commercial and cross-functional leaders, activating data driven problem solving in a way that the business can execute to drive impact and unlock value.
The ISE India Lead is accountable for the delivery of high quality and impactful strategic business decision support to this key market in the International Commercial Division (ICD). This person will be accountable for leading performance measurement, informing investment decisions, and guiding near-term and long-term commercial strategy. The role serves as the executive CAAI relationship manager to the country, accountable to the Country President, Business Unit leadership and other members of the country LT.
The person in this role will lead cross-functional analytic teams of ISE Therapeutic Area (TA) experts, Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers and others to deliver robust analytic solutions to address the highest priority business issues. This person will be responsible for ensuring CAAI colleagues collaborate with Commercial Finance, Biopharma Operations, Digital, Chief Business Office, and other functions as appropriate to ensure optimal actionability of insights and execution of those actions.
The ISE India Lead is accountable for driving the country's commercial analytics agenda grounded in ICD strategic priorities, guiding the CAAI team on the design and execution of analytics and insights plans that reflect that agenda, and delivering actionable insights that result in direct business impact. This person must be a proactive and strategic thought partner, strong project manager, and capable influencer with and without direct authority.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Emerging Markets ISE Lead, the ISE India Lead will serve as a strategic advisor and analytics expert to the country president and LT and will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams delivering CAAI capabilities to business partners.

  • Proactively engage and partner with business colleagues to identify and prioritize challenges requiring analytic solutions that will drive informed decision-making
    • Lead strategic performance measurement discussions with country LT
    • Drive the implementation of new CAAI capabilities and solutions in India, as necessary
    • Enable clear line of sight of the market and competitive pharma landscape in the country
    • Engage in the development of solutions to complex business issues, as needed, even if solutions are outside of ISE remit
  • Set a vision for and lead the country ISE team to ensure robust and consistent analytics & insights delivery
    • Foster an environment and culture characterized by exceptional performance, impactful work, customer focus, analytic innovation, insight integration, and best practice sharing
    • Lead a highly engaged and motivated team
    • Proactively identify and encourage career opportunities that will build capabilities and support the professional development goals of team members

  • Accountable for the delivery of analytics & insights across the catalog of CAAI solutions and capabilities, some of which will be delivered by other members of CAAI.
    • Primary market research to inform strategy development and guide sales and marketing decisions
    • Secondary data analysis to ensure comprehensive understanding of market and customer dynamics, including competitive insights, industry trends, market access dynamics, and portfolio performance
    • Promotion effectiveness & insights to guide effective use of promotional resources, including delivery of segmentation & targeting, promotion response analysis, FF sizing & structure, omnichannel analytics, etc.
    • Forecasting and modeling to support long-range forecasting and inform resource allocation, strategies and tactics
    • Data reporting & stewardship, including identification of new data sources in partnership with CAAI Data Strategy
    • Advanced analytics including predictive modeling, data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning
    • Omnichannel analytics & insights including development of Customer 360s, customer profiles and predictive behavioral analytics
  • Ensure proactive and collaborative working relationships with relevant cross-functional partners (as mentioned above) as well as global and Commercial Office ISE colleagues to adapt global and regional strategies to the countryas relevant, to share knowledge and expertise and to ensure cohesive activities and quality analysis and insights
  • Lead the definition and consistent application of business metrics, striving for continuous improvement and innovation in analytic approaches across all business units and brands
  • Enable systematic knowledge management to identify and maximize cross-category and synergies
  • Build and foster external relationships to drive analytics as a competitive advantage at Pfizer
  • Actively seek opportunities to work with Biopharma Operations and other CMO functions as well as Digital to identify solutions and services that build on analytic insights
  • Negotiate budget, service levels and operating plan with country leadership
  • Be an active contributer to the CAAI International Team, advancing Pfizer's analytic strategy to deliver competitive advantage
  • Share knowledge of successful analytics and insights with Global and other International teams and other markets


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline
  • 10+ years of strong multi-disciplinary experience with a preference for exposure to business analytics, marketing, sales/operations, strategy, and/or organizational development
  • Track record of thought partnership with senior commercial leadership to advance business priorities and goals
  • Budget management and resource allocation experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry in India, including relevant data sources required to understand and generate insights about the market
  • Deep experience across CAAI services including data analytics, primary and secondary market research, data reporting & visualization, data processing, use of AI/ML and commercial analytic tools; specific experience in Dataiku/DSS and Tableau are highly desired
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to senior leadership with the capacity to quickly understand business strategies and establish relationships of trust and credibility
