Role: Freelance Technical Project Manager
Location: Mumbai
Work Location: Preferably Mumbai since we'd need the person to work from our Mumbai office at least twice a week
Work Timings: Minimum 4-5 hours in the second half of the day as per IST, and sometimes later to communicate with our team in New York, USA.
Work Days: Monday to Friday (WFO on Tue and Wed and other three days WFH)
About the role:
We are looking for a project manager to join us for a 4-5 month long engagement (with the possibility of extension). Must be available Monday through Friday, for minimum 4-5 hours in the second half of the day as per IST, and sometimes later to communicate with our team in the New York. Must be willing to work from our Mumbai office twice a week.
Primary responsibilities:
- Managing execution of website or app projects of varying complexity from documentation to development and launch.
- Run daily stand-ups with the engineering team and/or design team
- Communicate progress and appropriate escalation to Account Manager, product manager and clients.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate sprints, daily stand-ups and ad-hoc meetings
- Work with internal and external (clients) Product Owners to handle backlog grooming, changing priorities and new requirements
- Resolve conflicts, remove obstacles and help teams implement changes and features effectively
- Ensure deliverables are up to high quality standards at the end of each sprint and client’s expectations are aligned on project deliverables, next steps and blockers.
- Work closely with clients and internal teams across design and engineering disciplines on a daily basis
- Ensuring projects are on track and raising issues or flagging risks effectively
- Produce and manage all necessary project documentation, including project timelines, resource plans, action/task sheets, status documents, burn reports etc.
Job Skills and Requirements:
- An experienced Project Manager with a deep passion building and launching products and coordinating software development teams.
- Responsible for managing multi-functional teams through design and development phases of new or existing product builds.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and are able to communicate project details clearly.
- Able to estimate work, set deadlines, and effectively manage teams of professionals to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with team members, establish roles and responsibilities, provide direction and foster effective team skills to complete tasks on time.
- Comfortable working with clients and discussing technical and business requirements.
Must Haves:
- 4+ years of Project Management Experience building and launching new apps or websites.
- A solid understanding of, or hands-on experience with software development, including experience in mobile development, web development or multi-tech platform implementation.
- Has experience working closely with distributed remote teams and leading full SDLC of mobile apps and websites.
- Has been client-facing and comfortable communicating and presenting to client teams.
- Exceptional planning, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and tenacious, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure, whilst remaining objective and retaining a positive approach.
