The Fixed Network Capacity Planning Expert is responsible for end-to-end forecasting, dimensioning, optimization, and strategic expansion planning across multi-vendor fixed networks covering transport, aggregation, and access layers. The role drives capacity readiness, service continuity, traffic growth management, and network scalability through data-driven planning and cross-functional technical leadership.
Responsibilities- Lead capacity planning and forecasting across all network layers, aligning with traffic growth, business demand, and technology evolution.
- Identify network bottlenecks, congestion risks, and capacity gaps, driving proactive augmentation strategies.
- Govern network utilization and performance, tracking key KPIs such as throughput, latency, congestion, and resiliency.
- Drive network optimization and expansion, including traffic engineering, redundancy planning, and efficient use of DWDM, MPLS, and IP technologies.
- Translate business demand and rollout plans into clear technical capacity and strategic expansion requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with vendors to ensure seamless execution of network expansion and modernization initiatives.
- Leverage tools, analytics, and automation to enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and data governance.
- Ensure cost optimization and investment governance, balancing capex/opex efficiency with scalability, performance, and service quality.
You Have:
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech with 10–15 years of experience in Fixed Network Planning, Capacity Planning, IP/MPLS, Fiber or Transport Network domains with exposure to large-scale telecom networks.
- Hands on experience in capacity planning, forecasting, and traffic modelling
- Proficiency in network KPI analysis, utilization governance, and optimization strategies
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities
- Experience with OSS/NMS tools, analytics platforms (Excel, SQL, BI) and data-driven decision-making
It would be nice if you also had:
- Knowledge of multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei, etc.)
- Relevant education or certifications (Telecom/Engineering degree, CCNP/CCIE or equivalent)
