We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead a critical engineering area and manage a high-performing team of senior engineers. You will own delivery, technical direction, team development, and engineering excellence across multiple related product domains.
- Lead and mentor a team of 6–10 senior engineers, potentially across multiple squads.
- Own technical strategy, architecture, and delivery for complex engineering initiatives.
- Partner with Product and business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business outcomes.
- Drive scalable, reliable, and high-performing system architecture.
- Manage cross-team dependencies, resource allocation, delivery risks, and technical trade-offs.
- Develop senior engineers and mentor future Engineering Managers and technical leaders.
- Drive hiring, performance management, succession planning, and team structure decisions.
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt, platform improvements, reliability, and scalability.
- Establish strong engineering practices around architecture, CI/CD, observability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including senior engineers.
- Strong experience delivering complex initiatives across multiple teams or product domains.
- Strong software engineering background with experience in technologies such as Java/Go, Kubernetes, Cloud Services, CI/CD, microservices, and messaging systems.
- Experience leading architecture discussions and influencing engineering strategy.
- Strong understanding of scalable distributed systems, APIs, reliability, and performance.
- Experience partnering closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders on roadmaps and prioritization.
- Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and develop future engineering leaders.
- Strong experience with Agile delivery and managing complex cross-functional dependencies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working in FinTech, Payments, Banking, eCommerce, or high-scale consumer technology products.
- Experience managing multiple squads or interconnected engineering domains.
- Experience building platforms or products serving large-scale user bases.
