What you will do

In this role, you will be part of product development team to manage & deliver new product functionalities, modify existing product’s functionalities or improve product functionalities as required.

Will work within Embedded HW development group in the design, development and test of HW product development for Fire detection systems.

You will work within a multi-disciplined engineering team consisting of electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, PCB Layout design engineers , Manufacturing, suppliers and supply chain firmware engineers, software engineers, programmers and scientists focusing on applied research and new technology innovations to provide new and improved products and solutions for our customers.

How you will do it

  • Responsible for owning the PFS of the product and associated technical documentation such as installation manual, user guide etc.
  • Work closely with members of cross-functional teams (analog, digital, RF, Mechanical, PCB Layout, Software, PV&V)
  • Hands on experience with Microcontroller and Microprocessor based embedded design and development
  • Expert understanding of multilayer PCB design process - best practices, design reviews, minimization of errors and process improvement
  • Experience in Schematic design & Layout tools: Altium Designer
  • Investigates and troubleshoots Manufacturing issues.
  • Component second sourcing activities.
  • Perform detailed analysis on competitors’ products, including performance analysis and product BOM cost estimation.
  • Executes testing on prototypes and collects data for analysis.
  • Experienced in handling equipment like Oscilloscope, RF measurement Spectrum analyzers and debugging tools
  • Expert technical skills in DFMEA, VA/VE, DFM, DFT, Failure and Root cause analysis
  • Good to have experience in Product compliance testing as per IEC, CE, FCC and UL standards.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team and independently.

What we look for

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable HW design and development practice; design techniques and systems and language platforms.
  • Product design knowledge on 32 bit microcontrollers (ARM 32-bit, STM, PIC32 etc)
  • Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscope, DVM, signal generators, spectrum analyzer, and similar test apparatus, and may program and operate computer automated test stations.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard tools such as Altium schematic capture
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting high density boards that incorporate microcontrollers, mixed analog and digital circuits and peripherals such as Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, telco etc.
  • Power supply design types: DC to DC convertors, Switch mode Regulators and LDOs
  • Analog / Digital design, mixed signal design and high speed design
  • Sensor, transducers, Relays and their interfaces with microcontroller
  • Circuit simulation (Spice analysis), Signal integrity, Stress and power analysis

Specialized Skills:

Strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills Able to work independently or in a team environment. Self-motivated, takes initiative to resolve issues. Ability to problem solve through analysis of a situation where there are a variety of variables.

Preferred

BE (ETC/EE) Degree in a technical field is required. 3 to 7 years’ experience on HW end to end product design.
