Cardinal Health is seeking an Engineer - eCommerce Developer, responsible for designing, implementing and delivering state-of-the-art ecommerce solutions. The ideal candidate is an individual with customer focused mindset, hands-on technology skills, positive work ethics and a collaborative mindset who is willing to learn and adapt to evolving business needs. This role will help deliver features, functions and new capabilities on our eCommerce platform.
What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.
Position Summary: We are looking for an eCommerce Developer - highly capable & with deep experience in SAP Commerce (Hybris) storefront development
Core Responsibilities
Upgrade & Migration: Drive hands-on upgrade initiatives from older SAP Commerce versions (e.g., 2011/2105) to latest releases, managing JDK 21 migration impacts, Spring 6 updates, and Open Rewrite-based code refactoring.
OCC API Implementation: Design, consume, and debug OCC REST APIs for complex product, cart, checkout, user, and CMS interactions, ensuring API contract compatibility.
CCV2 DevOps & Validation: Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to validate storefront functionality, performance, and caching strategies across CCv2 environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
Troubleshooting: Expertly troubleshoot JDK 21 compatibility issues, Spring 6 bean changes, and OCC integration failures.
Architecture & Quality: Build scalable, modular UI components aligned with Spartacus architecture, leveraging NgRx and reactive programming.
Frontend Modernization: Maintain, refactor, and enhance legacy jQuery-based storefront scripts during transition phases to Angular.
UI Engineering: Deliver responsive, accessible (WCAG), and cross-browser compatible UI using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS.
Spartacus Development: Develop, customize, and optimize Spartacus/Composable Storefronts, ensuring seamless integration with SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2).
Required Skills & Qualifications
SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris): Experience with Hybris Commerce Cloud (CCv2) architecture, specifically within cloud-native environments.
Upgrade Experience: Proven experience in SAP Commerce upgrade cycles, particularly Java 17/21 and Spring 6 migration experience.
OCC & Integration: Proven experience debugging OCC API contracts and integrating frontend with backend services.
jQuery & Legacy Support: Ability to maintain and refactor older Hybris Accelerator storefronts.
UI Performance: Strong knowledge of frontend performance optimization, lazy loading, and caching.
Collaboration tools: Experience with Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps pipelines for CCv2 deployments.
Spartacus/Composable Storefront: Hands-on experience customizing CMS components, services, interceptors, and OCC adapters in Spartacus.
Angular & TypeScript: Advanced proficiency in modern Angular (v14+) and TypeScript, including Angular Universal (SSR).
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Solr search optimization.
- Understanding of third-Party integrations such as Payment integrations, SOAP API.

- Design and develop Backend APIs using restful services and front-end application
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle applying best practices and Agile software development methodologies.
- Understand and meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development principles and product goal
- Collaboratively work with various cross-functional teams across the globe.
- Teach and mentor fellow engineers, and work to foster an environment of development and inclusivity
Qualifications:
- Engineering in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years as a software developer with Relevant experience & 4+ years of strong experience with Hybris Commerce Cloud
- Great communication skills and an ability to work and lead a team
- Good in design & Dev of technologies such as SAP Hybris, Java, SpringBoot
- Good to have FED Skills in Angular/ Spartacus
- Expert programming skills in Java and JavaScript and expertise in API and Web development.
- Experience with Cloud native technology and processes, including CI/CD pipelines and supporting technologies like Cloud Foundry, Concourse, dockers and Kubernetes is preferred
- Experience with Commerce tools, API products, Adobe Experience Manager and IBM WebSphere products is a big plus.
- Exposure to eCommerce and healthcare domain is a plus
