Job Information

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Application Developer with proficiency in PostgreSQL and expertise in cloud platforms to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that meet our organizational needs. As a Database Application Developer, you will collaborate closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to design and optimize database architecture, ensure data security and integrity, and enhance overall system performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and implement database solutions using PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
2. Collaborate with software developers to integrate database functionality into applications, ensuring seamless data flow and efficient query processing.
3. Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques.
4. Ensure data integrity and security by implementing access controls, encryption, and other measures.
5. Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
6. Work closely with data analysts to understand data requirements and develop appropriate database structures and schemas.
7. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in database development and cloud computing.
8. Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy and manage database solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
9. Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
10. Document database architecture, processes, and procedures for reference and training purposes

Technical Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Proven experience as a Database Application Developer or similar role, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
3. In-depth knowledge of database concepts, SQL, and database design principles.
4. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
5. Experience with database administration, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security management.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions on time.
9. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
10. Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud computing are desirable.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of Git , Bit bucket and other version management tools.
• Understanding of SQL.
• Experience with test automation for Front-End (unit and integration test suites)
• Experience with JS task runners (Gulp, Grunt, Broccoli)
• Experience building system in GCP or any other cloud platform.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and frameworks, and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira or Trello, including participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
