Job Summary:
The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in the administration of systems infrastructure within our esteemed government entity. Reporting directly to the IT Systems Manager, the incumbent is expected to bring expertise in Microsoft and Oracle database administration, ensuring the seamless functioning of critical databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of database administration and performance tuning.
- Experience with database backup and recovery.
- Understanding of database security and high availability.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 4+ years of experience in the Information Technology industry
- Strong knowledge and experience in Oracle and SQL database administration.
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (DBA) and Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate certifications are preferred.
- Proven ability to proactively monitor and optimize database performance.
- Experience in managing, coordinating, and implementing software upgrades and patches.
- Familiarity with change management processes and incident correlation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
