Role purpose
The Commercial Finance Manager acts as a trusted finance business partner to Sales, Marketing and other functional leaders. The role provides forward-looking analysis, planning discipline and commercial insight to support profitable growth, improve decision-making and deliver business commitments.
Key aspects of the role
Commercial finance partnering
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market plans and commercial strategies
- Provide financial insight and business ‘sense’ to formulated draft plans.
Planning & Analysis
- Drive analysis and insights and turn them into business actions
- Support in leading the annual Spring Plan (budget) and monthly budgeting process
- Provide financial support to the Commercial team in ensuring achievement of financial targets, proactive engagement in risks and opportunities assessment and influence business actions to address them
- Assume responsibility for month end results including detailed review, presentation to commercial team with focus on action plans to sustain/improve results
- Lead ROI methodology to ensure accurate budget allocation, including post evaluation of initiatives
Process and collaboration
- Improve planning, reporting and analysis processes, tools and templates.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Data & Technology and Finance teams.
- Ensure finance processes are accurate, timely and aligned with company requirements.
The individual
- Preferably FMCG background with at least 8-10 years working closely with Commercial Sales and Marketing teams
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline; professional qualification preferred.
- Good grasp of business dynamics, with exposure to Operations, Supply Chain as well as Sales and Marketing
- Excellent analytical and business skills.
- Passionate, driven by quality and achieving results, high level of integrity

- High level competence using spreadsheet applications and experience with ERP, planning or business-intelligence systems such as SAP or comparable tools.
