Key Responsibilities
The candidate will work closely with multiple global teams, including our Danish HQ (Newbuilding & Retrofit Design), Mumbai office, vessels, shipyards, OEMs, and other internal stakeholders.
The role will be responsible for implementing new equipment installations and retrofit modifications across the existing fleet to support our operational and strategic goals.
The primary responsibilities include:
Initiating, planning, and independently managing major retrofit projects from concept through delivery.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical and operational teams to achieve project objectives.
Driving external suppliers, vendors, shipyards, and service providers to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
Facilitating effective communication and coordination among all stakeholders.
Maintaining a strong safety-first mindset throughout project execution.
Ensuring compliance with international regulations, class requirements, company standards, and quality expectations.
Taking ownership of assigned projects while fostering teamwork and collaboration to achieve desired outcomes.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a passionate, motivated, and experienced professional with Minimum 5–10 years or more of relevant experience within the Electrical project execution on commercial sea-going vessels / Ship Management / Sailing experience as ETO with project experience / Shipbuilding /Ship repair/conversion projects /Marine design engineering & Project implementation and rollout activities
The ideal candidate should possess:
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering (Mandatory).
Experience in marine electrical systems, shipbuilding, ship repair, retrofit projects
Exposure to Design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine electrical, automation, navigation, and control systems.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural environment.
Preferred Profile Requirements
Strong Electrical & Automation background (Mandatory). Experience in Marine / Shipbuilding / Ship Repair / Retrofit Projects. Proven end-to-end project implementation and execution experience. Previous sailing experience as an ETO on commercial vessels (Preferred). Exposure to shipyard design, engineering, and production processes. Strong understanding of marine equipment selection and OEM interactions. Experience coordinating with Classification Societies and Approval Authorities. Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities. Managing projects from Design to Delivery with full ownership. Demonstrating strong knowledge of shipboard electrical and automation equipment. Managing multiple stakeholders, including Internal teams within Maersk ,Shipyards , Service teams , OEMs, and suppliers Liaising effectively with Class and Approval Authorities for approvals Ensuring strong adherence to project management processes, schedules, and deliverables.
Additional Skills Considered Beneficial
Knowledge of Networking, IoT, Situational Awareness Systems, and related technologies.
Project Management certification (advantageous but not mandatory).
Technical management experience with a results-oriented mindset.
Excellent English communication skills and confidence interacting at all levels of a global organization.
Candidates possessing a combination of Design Engineering and Project Implementation experience may also be considered.
