The Finance trainee apprentice will support key forecasting, analytics, automation, and process transformation initiatives within the International Net Loss Provision Forecasting team. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial forecasting, data analytics, automation, and emerging AI technologies while working on high-impact business problems while experiencing the dynamic world of Amex Finance every day.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, maintenance, and enhancement of forecasting and analytical processes for international credit loss and reserve forecasting.
Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, drivers, variances, and emerging portfolio risks to support business decision-making.
Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python, SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of forecasting processes.
Assist in the design and implementation of reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytical tools that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Demonstrates ability to understand system architecture and interlinkages
Identify opportunities to optimize and enhance existing reporting processes and workflows through automation
Collaborate with other Finance teams/functions in gathering relevant and reliable information to meet the requirements of the role
Provide tactical support to ongoing projects
Assist in preparation/refresh of standard operating procedures
Ensure adherence to company’s financial policies
Leverage Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Custom GPTs to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance analytical capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent, with(out) maximum of 11 months of experience
Hands-on experience on SQL/Python/other programming languages.
Basic understanding of Finance concepts and, appreciation of role and criticality of Finance in a multinational company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exhibits positive attitude, agility and willingness to learn and develop
