The role defines SLOs and error budgets, drives automation and resilience practices, partners with engineering, security, and compliance teams, manages reliability budgets, and communicates technical risk to executives. It also requires hands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, observability, distributed systems, scripting, and CI/CD.
