Own and develop Blitzy’s mission-critical backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and LLM-powered production systems. The role requires hands-on architecture, coding, system reliability, scalability, observability, data architecture, semantic retrieval, and enterprise software modernization. The Principal Engineer will drive complex technical initiatives, establish engineering standards, and contribute across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI systems without people-management responsibilities.

Owns architecture and technical roadmaps for core backend, infrastructure, and AI platform areas. Writes and reviews production code, resolves complex reliability issues, drives technical initiatives, improves software delivery practices, and mentors engineers. The role partners closely with company leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in an in-person environment while shaping scalable, secure, enterprise-grade systems.

Build, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade backend software while partnering with the CTO and founding team. Own technical decisions, production reliability, scalability, security, and lifecycle improvements. Troubleshoot complex issues, develop prototypes and technical content, adopt emerging technologies, and collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and other stakeholders. The role requires strong backend, cloud, infrastructure-as-code, distributed systems, API, database, and generative AI experience, with independent execution in an in-person startup environment.
