Why we're hiring:

Our Legal team are hiring. Come and join us and act as in-house counsel for all WPP agencies in the Middle East and North Africa region (11 countries) and India. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, based out of WPP's Mumbai offices. 

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Legal Director your responsibilities will include:

  • Be part of WPP Legal Team in the MENA and Indian sub-continent with a focus on Middle East & North Africa. Advise on legal and compliance issues, providing legal support for the business in the region.
  • Advise client executives, business development leaders and other business partners on the legal and commercial aspects of a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, and service agreements, creative content, IT supplier agreements, technology licences, data processing agreements and non-disclosure agreements, talent agreements etc.
  • Advise the business on risk, compliance, employment, IP matters and relevant aspects of law. Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate those risks. Advise on regulatory compliance and monitor changes in legislation that may impact the business.
  • Manage & prevent client litigation.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and support to the company's senior management and various business units.
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with corporate governance practices and procedures.
  • Manage all legal aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Oversee and manage any litigation matters, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on relevant legal issues and best practices to ensure compliance with WPP policies and risk management.


What you'll need:

  • Analytical, negotiation and communication skills. 
  • A law qualification is preferred for this role.
  • Legal experience, with a focus on commercial contracts and corporate law and /or litigation is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department, or an excellent law firm.
  • Experience in a multinational environment is desirable. 
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Advise on various other legal matters, including intellectual property, litigation, data privacy, compliance, and employment
  • Provide timely, practical, business-oriented legal advice
