Job Description
As a Private Banking Operations Manager (VP) within our team, you will provide oversight and escalation support to the daily OTC Derivatives operational activities. You will work closely with Onshore partners, Business stakeholders, Risk and Controls, Compliance, and other partners to implement projects and establish periodic review on controls governance framework. This role offers the opportunity to deliver the firm's business strategy while developing a deep understanding of local regulations governing OTC Derivatives products.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workflow through accurate and timely trade processing and lifecycle of OTC Derivatives products within the team
  • Develop continuous understanding of local regulations governing OTC Derivatives products.
  • Own issues and make objective decisions related to the OTC Derivatives operational issues, regulatory compliance and timely escalate to relevant stakeholders, including onshore and control partners.
  • Maximize team's capacity through effective resource planning and ensure robust team structure through effective training and succession planning.
  • Make sound and objective decisions on operational issues management and escalation.
  • Ensure department has viable Business Continuity plans in place, that follow firm's policy and that all staffs are familiar with the plans.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the team. Provide effective communications to the department, ensuring staff are aware of ongoing strategy and regulatory changes within the organization.
  • Establish robust framework around governance and controls on processes and perform periodic review with the team and control partners. All daily controls and processing are completed and signed off, as well as key metrics are produced as required.
  • Develop working relationship with Business, Risk, Legal, Compliance and other partners to execute transformation and growth agenda for the Private Bank.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of core operations experience with domain knowledge of Trading Middle -Office (OTC Derivatives).
  • Strong communications and people management skills, ability to influence stakeholders, lead and motivate managers and team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability to operate in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking are required in driving solution and initiatives, while prioritizing workloads within critical deadlines.
  • Strong ability to learn ongoing stream of new markets, products, and processes to align with business requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partnership mindset).
  • Display high levels of integrity, operating on basis of open and honest interaction.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Python and Alteryx CORE certification is a plus.
