Team Overview: Regulatory and Analytics (R&A)
The Regulatory and Analytics (R&A) team within the EDO plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of regulatory reports and in leveraging data analytics to drive business insights. The R&A team collaborates across various business and technology units to implement robust data quality management policies and procedures, and to provide subject matter expertise on regulatory reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Data Quality Stewardship: Defendable and Supported Analysis
- Become domain expert in wholesale credit product, business and risk management
- Accountable for DQ review in compliance with Wholesale Credit, EDO and regulatory guidance. Be comprehensive, concise, conclusive and consistent with strong support
- Responsible for detecting, assessing, measuring, reporting of data anomalies
- Apply new technology and data analytics tools to improve the review efficiency
- Contribute to development and sustainability of R&A Target Operating Model.
Data Analytics Tooling, Automation and AI Development for Wholesale Credit:
- Design and implement analytics for reporting, DQ detection and adjustments, trend analysis and anomaly monitoring using tools like Python, VBA, query, Excel
- Define use cases, collaborate with business, Risk, data modeling, Technology on AI data model training, lead contextualization wholesale credit concepts for AI training
- Drive the resolution of data-related issues to ensure accurate and timely regulatory filing and enhanced internal risk management
- Scope and define business requirements for DQ remediation, data-drive decision intelligence, ollaborate with Product Development on implementation and deployment
Control Development and Issue Management:
- Define logic rules and assign appropriate severity level, project manage to ensure quick time-to-market and improve end-to-end data integrity
- Review and enhance regulatory reporting logics to align with regulatory guidance
- Design appropriate testing plan to minimize impact of false positive or false negatives
- Maintain issue log, review and prioritize strategic remediation based on issue scorecard
- Implement and document compensating controls for regulatory reporting
Internal and Regulatory Exam, Change Management:
- Manage internal and regulatory inquiries, Internal Audit and regulatory exam as the primary for coverage portfolios, back up teammates on others
- Collaborate in regulatory change management with RRIO, Risk, Finance from interpretation to implementation
- Effectively communicate and coordinate implementation, act as R&A SME to support business, Risk and Finance
- Support the development and implementation of best-in-class Data Quality management policies, procedures, and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Result-oriented, self-motivated for high quality execution with good time management
- Working experience with data analytics tools (Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI / Tableau), hands-on with artificial intelligence technique
- Commitment and aptitude to quickly learn wholesale loan legal agreement and Risk document review. Self-learner mindset who thrives with extensive on-the-job training.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills to drive resolution of complex problems, ability to communicate effectively, succinctly and clearly
- A team player who will collaborate and challenge peers as well as counterparts in front office, Risk and reporting
- Ability to help define and support technology development
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or other data
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI technique, Python, data mining and analytics tools
- Prior working knowledge of wholesale lending document and US regulatory reporting (e.g. FR-Y14Q, Y-9C and 2052a) is nice to have, but not a must
- 7+ years of experience in the financial services, legal or other regulated industry, with preference of previous wholesale credit and regulatory reporting.
- Business proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, other languages
