- Ensure smooth and proper functioning of Operations Planning across all branches (New Delhi including Neemrana, Mumbai, Chennai & Bengaluru).
- Lead a team to manage and execute planning, budget management, expense management, and coordination with the Head of Operations & Product Heads.
- Coordinate with MGS Operations, Front Office, and Trade Products teams to offer structured trade products to customers.
- Suggest and implement process and system enhancements to improve operational efficiency and ensure proper operational controls to mitigate risks.
- Responsible for overall operational planning activities, including management, operation, and enhancement of products and services at branch level.
- Drive unit-level project initiatives with strong project management focus.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for all audit/compliance-related matters.
- Assess effectiveness and efficiency of business initiatives in line with the Bank’s policies.
- Manage project initiatives to enhance customer service experience.
- Suggest process reviews and enhancements.
- Support the development of the department’s strategy.
- Provide inputs/feedback to Branch senior management for planning key business decisions, budgetary matters, manpower, and compliance/regulatory management.
- Coordinate with captive hub/Front Office to understand structured transaction requests and support development of transaction processing solutions.
- Review and develop internal processes and policies with captive hub.
- Support timely responses to auditors and regulators; coordinate with stakeholders to resolve complex open-account trade issues and maintain SLAs.
- Enable and drive projects to enhance customer experience and operational efficiencies across branches.
- Manage the team to achieve organizational objectives.
- Act as a role model and ensure adherence to company policies/guidelines.
- Support, coach, and guide team members on transaction-related issues.
- Create opportunities for team skill enhancement and ensure appropriate staff training.
- Promote multi-functionality within the team to increase productivity.
- Ensure no critical audit points arise from regulatory or internal audits.
- Support investigations of incidents within the department by preparing reports and recommendations.
- Develop departmental initiatives to improve processes and systems.
- Ensure team understanding of MUFG policies and local regulations for efficient transaction processing.
- Guide the team on compliance with local laws and AML guidelines.
- Report suspicious trade-related transactions (import/export/remittances) and escalate to Compliance/Senior Management; prepare STRs as required.
- Verify/check/sign books, registers, statements, reports, and transactions.
- Represent the department in Committee Meetings.
- Perform duties as Vault Key Officer, including daylight control of vault keys.
- Manage opening of Key Safes’ combination locks and opening/closing of Vault/Safe/Lockers.
- Serve as Information Asset Usage Manager for branch operations.
- Carry out responsibilities as CORE Reporter (Upper) & Administrator.
- Member of Crisis Control Committee.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and leadership capabilities.
- Substantial experience in operations, specifically Trade & Foreign Exchange.
- Strong knowledge of operations systems and transaction processes.
- Solid understanding of the local banking regulatory environment and regulations.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Organized, analytical, persuasive, inspirational, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving.
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 15–18 years of relevant Operations / Planning / cross-functional experience, with strategic role exposure and a proven track record.
